Production Supervisor

Concord California Seeking a Production Supervisor. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and controlling the activities of the department using related equipment. Monitors the manufacture of precision; extremely close tolerance products composed of varied materials. Oversees use of precision measuring instruments to inspect machined work. Assigns work to employees in keeping with schedules and by difficulty involved, and instruct, direct, and check their work on a continuing basis. Evaluates work quality and quantity and resolve problems in quality and workmanship. Troubleshoots manufacturing problems and take corrective action. Designs fixtures and tooling for incoming jobs and follow use into manufacturing processes. Discuss jobs with other supervisory, support personnel. Monitors department work activities. Receives and breakdowns schedules, analyze jobs to determine machining, tools, fixtures required, obtain tooling as needed. Interfaces with engineering, production control, quality control, and other departments to obtain routing, clear quality problems, secure services and information. Schedules in urgent jobs and comply with revisions. Maintains discipline and employee morale. Assists employees in planning, setting up, and inspecting work. Takes immediate action to correct any unsafe practices observed and promote safe work practices. Attends production meetings. Interviews applicants for employment. Designs tooling as required. Maintains related records, files in up-to-date condition. Maintains office area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition. Follows established company/department rules and regulations and maintain quality standard. Performs other related duties as directed or as responsibilities dictate. Actively promotes safety, production, and quality standards. Maintains the security and confidentiality of our customer's products and documentation. Should have knowledge in precision measuring techniques and programs. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications required. Communication skills are critically important to gather information and effectively present findings and recommendations. Ability to train employees in new processes and procedures and convince them of the importance and efficacy of new methods. Must be able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks toward realization of deadlines. Possesses and applies broad understanding of the principles, practices and procedures of this field of specialization. Understanding of basic machining and assembly practices, tools, and fixtures. Quality orientation and attention to detail a must. Ability to handle multiple and frequently changing priorities. Ability and desire to develop problem resolution and analysis methodologies. 5+ years of manufacturing supervision experience in a progressive environment required. Bachelor's degree required.
