Seeking an Engineering Manager. The candidate will be responsible for all areas of departmental management including personnel, production support, maintenance, materials and tooling to ensure that products are assembled to customer expectations. Position Responsibilities: Manages Support Engineering Group, leading support engineers and technicians through career development and day to day responsibilities for the support and sustaining engineering of production equipment and the facilities. Recommends and select new hires as well as recommends and performs disciplinary action up to and including termination. Responsible for employee development and performance reviews. Oversees the implementation of customer documentation changes and internal change orders. Develops strategies for new business and assists in production planning. Reports on the status of NPL (New Product Launch) activities. Uses statistical tools to lead quality improvement within the support engineering team for products and processes. Provides product design review leadership to customers. Drives internal and external corrective action plans. Plans new customer development and new business development within the support organization. Analyzes data to understand business improvement needs. Understands the total business operation to include material procurement, order entry, forecasting, manufacturing, invoicing, customer returns, inventory levels and on-time delivery. Understands manufacturing systems and tooling development. Communicates effectively, in both written and verbal formats. Effectively mentors employees at all levels. Understands and uses continuous improvement tools. Drives solutions to complex planning issues with limited supervision. Supports a 24/7 global business operation as required. Effective analytical, planning, and organizational skills. Effective interpersonal skills with employees and customers. Effective negotiation and problem solving skills. Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism when representing the company. Demonstrates leadership and people management skills. Demonstrates teamwork and the ability to operate on diverse project teams with minimal direction. Solid financial understanding, risk analysis ability, relationship-building, and project management. Leads or participates in a continuous improvement activity with complete documentation including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format. Available for travel up to 25% to 40% of the time, including day, overnight and international travel as required. Must be computer literate; including the ability to navigate and use Microsoft products and other industry standard software. Should have 5+ years of manufacturing engineering or operations experience in printed circuit board assembly processes preferred, including at least 2 years in a leadership role; small site, second level large site (600 employees and associated revenue/customer base); Should have Project Management experience. Must have a 4 year related technical degree or equivalent combination of demonstratable prolonged education in a technical field.
